All about the Staten Island Zoo:

The Staten Island Zoo is an 8 acre suburban zoo in the West New Brighton section of Staten Island. The zoo is open all year, with the exception of Christmas, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving. The Staten Island Zoo (also known as Barrett Park) can be traced back to three Staten Island War Heroes; Major Clarence Barrett, Colonel Richard Penn Smith, and Colonel Edward Harden. In the 1800, this area was home to many high ranking military officers who owned stately estates on Clove Road such as Colonel Smith and Colonel Harden.

Our 2022 FDNY Delivery

Delivery to All 19 Firehouses in Staten Island:

This month aside from our 2022 NYPD Cookie Delivery that was done with the help of all of our sponsors. Tom himself funded the delivery of goods to the FDNY as well. We want to always spread the holiday cheer and give back to all first responders who put their lives on the line to help others.

Tom Crimmins with the help of Alec Willis, our marketing manager and realtor, stepped out and visited all 19 firehouses located on Staten Island and delivered a treat to each and every single station. Santa Clause Came To Staten Island:

Our 2022 NYPD Cookie Delivery was a HUGE success! Thank you to all the generous sponsors and volunteers that made it possible. A few days ago we had the incredible honor of accompanying Santa Claus on his visit to all the NYPD Precincts of Staten Island. It was there where we helped him distribute over 500 tins of cookies for each and every officer, so that they can bring something home to their families this holiday season! They say it's the season of giving...well we wanted to make sure that we gave to those who give so much to us on a daily basis. 2nd Annual Back the Blue Fundraiser

In memory of Detective Jerry Eick:

To say the 2nd Annual Back the Blue Fundraiser, in memory of Detective Jerry Eick was a success would be a major understatement! It was a tremendous night dedicated to a tremendous man with funds and toys being collected for tremendous causes. This year we decided to do something else to enhance the night and that was to create the inaugural Jerry Eick Memorial Award to further honor his legacy. The award was presented to two incredible members of the Staten Island community and two incredible supporters of the NYPD which were both major parts of Detective Eick’s life. Richmond County once had many beautiful old movie theaters that added to the rich culture and environment of Staten Island. By now, almost all of these theatres are closed but we continue to appreciate the film industry by the opening of many new theaters on Staten Island today.

The Palace Theater: This theater was located on 300 Broadway, in the West New Brighton section of Staten Island. I believe the theater opened in 1924. It is said that first run movies were featured there. It closed when television became popular and more people were staying home to watch television. Money was a consideration at the time this theater was open.

One of the main attractions on the North Shore of Staten Island is the St. George Theatre. The St. George Theatre is a major performing arts venue. This staple venue was built in the year of 1929 on December 4th. It is an arts venue, picture palace and office complex located at 35 Hyatt Street. This 2 million dollar theater can hold up to 2,800 people and is a must see place while in Staten Island.

The Staten Island Ferry is a passenger ferry service run by NYC’s Department of Transportation. It is a free way to travel between the boroughs of Manhattan and Staten Island. The ferry travels a single route around New York Harbor for 5.2 miles in roughly 15-20 minutes on average. The ferry is located in St. George of Staten Island and travels to Whitehall of Manhattan. The Staten Island Ferry is not necessarily only used by tourists as it is also used by commuters but there are still beautiful views that can be caught during the ride.

Realtor Appreciation Event 2022

End of Summer Bash at South Fin Grill:

This past week on September 22nd, Elli Kalamaras of US.Mortgage hosted a Realtor Appreciation Event to conclude the Summer with a great bash. The event was hosted at the South Fin Grill located on Staten Island which around 50 people made it out to, mostly being from Tom Crimmins Realty.

Steven A. Milner the owner of U.S. Mortgage was in attendance as well as Tim M. Kennedy and more to the U.S Mortgage team. It was a great night with discussion about current mortgage rates and all the amazing programs they have to offer. It was a fun night for friends, agents and colleagues to see each other after a hard working summer.
