In memory of Detective Jerry Eick:

NYPD

To say the 2nd Annual Back the Blue Fundraiser, in memory of Detective Jerry Eick was a success would be a major understatement! It was a tremendous night dedicated to a tremendous man with funds and toys being collected for tremendous causes. This year we decided to do something else to enhance the night and that was to create the inaugural Jerry Eick Memorial Award to further honor his legacy. The award was presented to two incredible members of the Staten Island community and two incredible supporters of the NYPD which were both major parts of Detective Eick’s life. The first ever recipients of the award were District Attorney Michael McMahon & NYPD/PBA Trustee George Winkler. Congratulations and it is well deserved.

We would also just like to give a special thank you to the Eick family for allowing us to honor Jerry — a loving father, husband, and 20 Year veteran of the NYPD.

NYPD

None of this would have been possible without the tremendous efforts of our amazing sponsors whose hard work and dedication to the Eick Family. Each and every one of them are part of the strongest small business circle/ network on Staten Island. Suzanne and Thomas Crimmins are so very proud to call them their business associates and more importantly friends. Each year we had in excess of 200 guests. The generous sponsors paid for the free night of food and open bar. The only requirement was that the guests had to donate at least $30 to the NYPD Widow's and Children's Fund and bring unwrapped gifts for Dennis McKeon Where to Turn Organization. Well we raised almost $19,000 in 2 years and in excess of 700 toys. We also had a raffle. Scott Lobaido donated a beautiful print and many local restaurants donated gift certificates. One of our Tom Crimmins Realty agents Mike Sarich singlehandedly solicited businesses while Suzanne and Marion Alameda beautifully wrapped the many prizes and also decorated the room. Our loyal friend and Marketing Manager, Alec Willis MC'd the night in a fabulous fashion. Ryan Crimmins, Elena Maestrone, Lynn Kutney and Ernest and Thamali Peiris manned the registration table. We are all so thankful to be able to honor Detective Jerry Eick and create a beautiful and meaningful event in memory of him. As followed are some of the amazing sponsors that made the night come to life.
