STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (May 2016) - Representatives of the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) recently joined with nearly 8,900 Realtors® from across the nation to meet in Washington, D.C., to advance issues critical to their businesses, communities and clients.

The initiative took place May 10-14 during the 2016 REALTOR® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo. During their visit to the nation’s capital, SIBOR members attended meetings and visited with regulators and lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss the legislative and regulatory environment and its effect on residential and commercial real estate.

Our 5th grade essay contest was another huge success. We had hundreds of participants and all the essays were amazing!

We had some real tough decisions to make to choose the winners because there were so many wonderful and creative essays. Our committee decided the winners are Yehan Hettiarachehige of Blessed Sacrament, Chloe Sonitis of PS 3, Nicholas Paronich of PS 5 and Manna Sam of PS 54.

The final placement of the student winners will be announced at the award ceremony dinner on June 2nd at the Pepper Jack Grill. The student and parent or guardian will be invited to attend the event. The final placement will be announced on our web site after the awards dinner.
