2015- Memorial Day Weekend on Staten Island -2015

The Memorial Day Parade is among the big events this weekend on the Island. The parade is from 11am to 3pm   The parade route starts on Forest Avenue between Decker and Victory Boulevard, heads down Hart Boulevard between Castleton and Revere, Randall Avenue between Forest and Castleton, goes down Walbrooke  Avenue between Castleton and Forest, then Gregg Place, Delafield, and Elwood Place between Randall Avenue and Walbrooke Avenue.

At  9am on Monday there is an Advance Four-Mile Run. The  start line is on  Father Capodanno Boulevard between Miller Field and Sand Lane.The Memorial Day run includes a Free Kids Fun Run at 8am. Registration is 7 to 7:30 am by the gazebo on the boardwalk. Registration for the Four-Mile Run is $35 and entries will be taken…

Staten Island Memorial Day Weekend 2015

Fleet Week New York  is, now in its 27th year.  Fleet Week is the city’s time-honored celebration of the U.S. Navy , U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard.  This celebration gives the citizens of New York an opportunity to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984.  The featured ships are located at 455 Front Street in Stapleton and there are free tours starting today. Relay For Life RAFFLE

Eight years ago we gathered around our kitchen table with what was for the last time with my Mom.   My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and we were made aware that these were her final days.  We were all feeling there was nothing anyone could do to lighten the weight of our heavy hearts.  We were hopeless.  The woman who gave us this news was from the American Cancer Society.  Along with this she sat with us and she proceeded to talk with us about HOPE.  Knowing that nothing would ever be the same again she helped us to trust that we weren’t alone. Cancer patients receive the full value of the money raised in their area if they take advantage of the American Cancer Society's offerings.  The society provides many services to cancer patients, including help with transportation and lodging and equipment such as hospital beds or walkers.  For those going through chemotherapy, the group provides wigs, cosmetology products, moisturizers and makeup to help them feel better and look better. Staging The Outside of Your Home

When preparing to sell your home you may be staging the interior so that it is more inviting for a potential purchase. You may want to stage your yard and entryway as well.

During the spring months many yards look vibrant but may also need some extra care for curbside appeal. Pulling weeds and adding a fresh layer of mulch where needed can give your yard a fresh well-maintained look.

Your entryway can be visible from the street and will be seen up close when buyers tour your home.  You can update the front door hardware and entry mat if they are dated or worn.  A real estate agent can generally be of value with more tips when listing your home to make a great impression on buyers.

March 2015 Staten Island Real Estate Market Recap

SIBOR says "if ever there was a year to list or purchase a home, wider economic factors seem to indicate that this is the one." With the change in weather and other factors - this can't be any more true.

New Listings in Staten Island increased 2.9%, pending Sales were up 33.8%. Inventory levels fell 22.5%.

Spring is here and the real estate market is blossoming. Below are inventory reports for March 2014 and March 2015, as well as comparisons. 

Comparing March 2015 to last year's month, Staten Island's real estate market had a healthy increase in sale sides from 243 to 297.

A few weeks ago was the SIBOR's Agent Breakfast where we had many Top Producers from our office. Tissue Paper Texture
