Want a fun event for you and your family to enjoy on a Saturday in Staten Island? Then, mark this event in your calendar folks! 

This is a free event opened to the public, and you can go to the National Lighthouse Museum for free! There are going to be a lot of vendors at the event like trying out different arts & crafts, delicious food to eat, face painting for the kids to enjoy, etc. There will be a ton of activities and vendors for each family member to enjoy!

If you are in love with music, there will be a ton of local bands there to play awesome tunes!

The Conference House (also known as the "Billopp House") is a historic house on the South Shore of Staten Island, in the beloved neighborhood of Tottenville. It was built in the 16th century and is famous for holding the Staten Island Peace Conference on September 11, 1776. 

History

Captain Christopher Billopp came to America in 1674 after years of service in the Royal Navy. He was given a land patent on almost one thousand acres on the southernmost tip of Staten Island. Archaeological evidence shows that the Raritan band of the Lenape camped in the area and used the location of a burial ground, now known as Burial Ridge.

This house was built around the 1840s in the Gothic revival style.  This house is located in Rosebank, Staten Island. The first to live here was Antonio Meucci and his wife Esther Meucci, they rented out their home to others. A short while after Giuseppe Garibaldi came to the US and Meucci offered him a place at his home and the two began working in Meuccis candle factory together. Soon after Garibaldi left Staten island to head back to Italy in 1854. Garibaldi was in the Italian military and he helped to unify Italy and soon his name was recognized all over the world.  In 1882, Garibaldi passed away and two years later a plaque was placed on the front door of the house in Rosebank.  When his dear friend Meucci died, the house was passed on to the Italian…

The Bennett house is located on Court Place at the corner of Richmond Road, Staten Island, New York. This historical house was built in 1839 and in addition, the rear of the house was added in 1854. The house has a beautiful four columned porch as well as an above ground basement. The first owner was a man named Austin Burke. Burke purchased the lot in the 1830's, and according to the commercial sized oven in the basement, we assumed he was a baker. Though Burke only occupied the property for a few years.  In 1894 John Bennett, a shipping merchant, and his family purchased the property.  The Bennett family consisted of him, his wife, and their three children.
