Incredibly Blessed To Live On Staten Island!

As we plunge into the holiday season, it's all about giving back to those in need. A dojo in Eltingville knows this spirit of charity better than anyone else.

Earlier this month, Bushido Dojo of the South Shore hosted its annual throw-a-thon. Sensei David Goodwin started this fundraiser 8 years ago to help the nonprofit organization, Incredibly Blessed. This event devotes a day for martial arts students to complete as many judo throws as possible within 60 seconds. Sponsors pledged donations per throw, ranging from a quarter all the way to $10. According to the organization's founder, Annmarie Cotello, Incredibly Blessed is working with Staten Island University Hospital to provide toys, games, and…

Putting your home on the market during the holiday season might seem stressful and frustration in theory. If you haven't read already, December is a great time to sell because there are few homes on the market and buyers are serious for the new year. Here are a few tips to make it through the holidays while you consider selling.

Hire A Real Estate Agent

It seems cliche, yes; but employing a professional will allow you to unload the worries that come along with selling a home. Your real estate agent will burden the pressure — and work — of finding the perfect buyer for your home. Real estate agents also have access to the MLS system where they can provide you more exposure for your home. This will free up your time to enjoy the season with your…

Create a wall calendar and you choose how many pictures are featured each month, or select a group picture and have it made into a throw blanket. Snapfish has…

Tom Crimmins Realty Toy Drive

Tom Crimmins Realty ends 2014 by giving back to the community by donating toys to Catholic Youth Organization and Police Officer Rocco Laurie Foundation. Over 800 toys were donated this year, toys were also distributed to PS 48.

It is truly heartwarming to see how many people give back to those who are struggling during this time of the year. It is important to be thankful for those of us who are more fortunate than others.

CYO's mission is to provide recreational, cultural and spiritual activities to the young people of the Archdiocese of New York. The Police Officer Rocco Lauri Foundation is in memory of 23 year old officer who was assassinated in 1972.

Here at Tom Crimmins Realty, we help support non-profit organizations in trying to do…

Holiday season is here and sellers have numerous real estate questions on their minds. Should I keep my property on the market? Should I list now or after the holidays? When is the best time to list?

It was originally thought that listing your property during the holidays was not the wise decision. However, with the Internet and potential buyers constantly on their phones, this forces the old logic to hold off until after the holidays out the window. Zillow said it best, "As a result of the Internet, our hectic schedules and mobile lifestyles, the fall months are no longer a real estate dead zone...There’s plenty of action happening after Labor Day through Christmas. The reality is, the home buying season is now year-round."

Today's serious buyers…

We have started our Toy Drive and are asking for any donations. The past toy drives were sponsored by the CYO. Last drive produced over 500 toys and were distributed mainly to the community. Majority of the toys were given to an afterschool program, Physical Fitness and Wellness Program, and children in Port Richmond.

This year, all toys will go to the CYO for further distribution to various needy organizations.

Tom Crimmins Realty will be accepting donations, you can drop off toys at our 304 Manor Road office in Westerleigh.

Last year, the Island was struck by Hurricane Sandy; unfortunately many of our friends and families lost their homes and belongings. CYO hosted the "Christmas Toy Drive" for those affected and Tom Crimmins Realty, with many of our friends, helped support. This year makes no difference.

On behalf of the Director of Catholic Charities of Staten Island, Joe Panepinto, his assistant Michael spoke about this year's drive.

The drive produced over 500 toys and were distributed mainly to the community. Majority of the toys were given to an afterschool program, Physical Fitness and Wellness Program, and children in Port Richmond.

"People are especially generous this time of year," said Michael. "We counted a lot of our donations from Continental…
