Winning students (Dorothy Ha, Damien Montanez, Garrett Vanderneut, Samantha Harrell) attended awards ceremony for Tom Crimmins Realty's Annual Essay Contest at The Manor House on Tuesday June 20, 2017. Alongside them are Suzanne and Tom Crimmins, Dan Boxman from United Northern, and fellow Tom Crimmins Realty agents (Peter Nacionales, Jack Favaloro, Vince Monardo, Sheri and Abe Aruch).

After a while of hard work and dedication in 5th grade classes across Staten Island, students and their schools submitted their essays to Tom Crimmins Realty's Annual 5th Grade Essay Contest. Following the submission of hundreds of essays from many schools both public and private, all essays were thoughtfully reviewed by our agents and staff.

Tom Crimmins Realty 2016 Essay Contest

Winning student writers (Manna Sam, Yehan Hettiarachehige, Nicholas Paronich, Chloe Sonitis) attend awards ceremony for Tom Crimmins Realty's Annual Essay Contest at PepperJack Grill, along side Suzanne and Tom Crimmins, Dan Boxman from United Northern, and the Tom Crimmins Realty Essay committee (Brian Kielty, Sheri and Abe Aruch, Lynn Kutney, Peter Nacionales, James Murphy).

After months of writing, 5th grade classes across Staten Island submitted their essays to Tom Crimmins Realty's Annual 5th Grade Essay Contest. Over 800 hundred essays were submitted and were then read by our committee - which consisted of Tom Crimmins Realty agents and staff.

Our 5th grade essay contest was another huge success. We had hundreds of participants and all the essays were amazing!

We had some real tough decisions to make to choose the winners because there were so many wonderful and creative essays. Our committee decided the winners are Yehan Hettiarachehige of Blessed Sacrament, Chloe Sonitis of PS 3, Nicholas Paronich of PS 5 and Manna Sam of PS 54.

The final placement of the student winners will be announced at the award ceremony dinner on June 2nd at the Pepper Jack Grill. The student and parent or guardian will be invited to attend the event. The final placement will be announced on our web site after the awards dinner.

Alas, the Tom Crimmins Realty 5th Grade Essay Contest has ended!

Students were asked: To what extent will the St. George Ferris Wheel impact the Staten Island community? Support all answers with either three major benefits or disadvantages.

Over 500 essays were submitted and read. Our young writers varied in listing benefits and disadvantages of the 625 feet tall St. George Ferris Wheel and side attractions that will follow. Benefits ranged from new job opportunities like handymen, tour guides, chefs and waiters in local restaurants to a boom in St. George real estate market to the wheel's efficient energy usage.
