Historic painted-lady Victorians, Mediterranean Revivals, well-maintained Colonials, and affordable single and multifamily dwellings are what you'll find on the real estate market in Stapleton. If you're excited by the prospect of living in one of Staten Island's most up-and-coming neighborhoods, you're going to love the neighborhood of Stapleton.
History of Stapleton
Surrounded by neighborhoods like Grymes Hill, Tompkinsville, Silver Lake, and St. George, Stapleton is one of the older areas near the waterfront, established during the mid-nineteenth century by the Vanderbilts. Although the piers were constructed in the 1920s and used as part of the Foreign Trade Zone, for the most part, the waterfront has languished and sat underused, until now. The rest of the neighborhood is a lively, eclectic mix of historic homes and properties, as well as newer buildings and businesses.
