History of Prince's Bay
Prince's Bay was once a bustling fishing and oystering village back in the 19th-century. In fact, Prince's Bay oysters were often found on the menus of some of the finest eateries in Manhattan. Over time the community evolved into a summer and second home neighborhood, and now, it's a secluded getaway far from the city's crowds.

Prince's Bay's Nearby Amenities
Like many of its neighbors located along the Staten Island Railway, Prince's Bay came to be after the construction of the Prince's Bay train station at the corner of Westbury Avenue and Seguine Avenue. Likewise, most of the neighborhood's stores, restaurants, and other businesses are situated near the station. However, to the south toward the waterfront, the atmosphere is more like that of a secluded oceanside hamlet. Acres upon acres of park land and preserves take up much of Prince's Bay, including the Lemon Creek Tidal Wetlands Area, the Wolfes Pond Park, and Bloessers Pond State Wetlands. There are a number of public and private schools not only in Prince's Bay but in the neighboring communities of Annadale and Tottenville.
Prince's Bay Schools
Prince's Bay is close to a number of public and private schools for K-12 students, as well as institutes of higher learning, such as Wagner College, St. John's University, and the College of Staten Island. For a map, more detailed information, and reviews of schools you can find all across Staten Island, please visit our Local Schools page.
Transportation in Prince's Bay

The Outerbridge Crossing to New Jersiey is only five minutes away from the middle of Prince's Bay, and the West Shore Expressway entrance is also just a few minutes from the neighborhood.
