History of Bay Terrace
Much of Bay Terrace's development took place during the 1950s, back when the neighborhood was referred to as Bay Terrace Avenue. The area experienced a population increase during the 1970s that spurred the construction of additional housing in the form of single family homes as well as townhouses. Commercial construction also grew and eventually, a shopping center was build on the site of a local swimming club.
