The original owner was a German immigrant named Balthasar Kreischer. Kreischer ran a very successful brick manufacturing company, with his wealth and success he built this beautiful mansion as well as another mansion further down for his two sons to live in. The Kreischer house was built on what we now know as Arthur Kill Road(4500 Arthur Kill Road). Yup, it's that house on the hill that always gives us the chills when we pass by it. It was built in the mid 1800s so naturally it has a Victorian vibe to it, this home has an amazing seven bedrooms three baths and many other multi-purpose rooms! Many native Staten Islanders would tell you that this particular house was haunted...unfortunately it's a huge possibility. Balthasar died just a year after the house was finished, his children Edward and Charles inherited the family brick manufacturing company which soon burnt down. The two lost most of their fortune which led the eldest son to commit suicide in the Kreischer house, Edward shot himself in the head. Creepily enough after the death of Edward the second Kreischer House was burnt down with Charles and his wife inside. Some may say that they heard pots and pans banging down the hallways and it's the ghost of a German cook who was killed in the kitchen, there's another legend that says you can hear children scratching and clawing at closet doors to get out and they were locked in there for being misbehaved. Yomtovian (owner) bought the property in 1999 and many business have tried and failed in the Kreischer House.  In 2005 the caretaker that Yomtovian hired murdered a man inside the house.  The caretaker ended up being a hit man for the mob and murdered Mafioso Robert Mckelvey by stabbing him, drowning him in the pool, then chopped his body in pieces and burned it in the basement furnace. This house definitely has a creepy past but that's what makes it one of Staten Islands most interesting historic sites.
