Former Real Estate Agent and Now CEO Gives Back to the Staten Island Community Once Again

SG Blocks “reduces the cost and carbon footprint of any construction project.” They build greener with their 100% recycled and repurposed materials, they also have a fast turnaround time as their construction period is reduced by 40%. They build for less; SG Blocks projects end up saving you 10 to even 20% on construction costs. The CEO of SG Blocks is Paul Galvin, a Staten Island resident who brings 25 years of experience in real estate and developing projects. Galvin’s real estate experience includes residential condominiums, luxurious sales, market rate, and low-cost rental complexes.

Due to Paul Galvin’s persistence and his hard work, his company was able to work with companies ranging from Starbucks, Taco Bell, Puma, Equinox, NBA and even with branches of the military. Before his endeavors with SG Blocks, Galvin constituted a non-profit organization focusing on public health, housing, and child survival, where he had been a leader for almost a decade. Galvin was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of a Yucaipa Investments business that specialized in repurposing obsolete religious and charity properties. He has also taught at Fordham University's Graduate School of Welfare as an adjunct professor where he also graduated with his Master of Science in Social Policy. Prior to this, Galvin graduated from Le Moyne College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He also serves on the board of ToughBuilt Industries, which sells and distributes a variety of home repair and construction products to both DIY and professional customers.

Galvin’s roots come back to his hometown Staten Island, New York. He attended high school at Monsignor Farrell High School where he played basketball as a point guard and later continued to play at Le Moyne College as well. Years later, Galvin decided to add to his list of accomplishments by finding a way back to the game he once loved. He is now the co-owner of the Syracuse Stallions, he is not only co-owner but one of their major investors and also a part of the board’s chairman. Galvin has a lengthy basketball background that includes experiences with the still New York City Youth Games and Empire State Games, as well as his CYO days at St. Charles. He not only contributed to Le Moyne's first 20-win season but he also concluded his career in College ball as a part of the Hall-of-Fame’s all-time assist and assists-per-game leader.

Paul Galvin gives back to the community in every way he can, he even started his career by giving back with the not-for-profit sector, mostly in Brooklyn and the Bronx, developing and leading a charity that offered shelter, food, and medical treatment to homeless persons and families with AIDS, as well as other underprivileged people. Glavin however, is giving back to Monsignor Farrell High School students in the following years with the Stallions holding tryouts at Farrell every year in the hopes of adding to their roster. As it is too late for this season, Galvin hopes to bring these tryouts to Staten Island kids for next season. He credits a lot of his success in basketball to his hometown, Staten Island.

Galvin hoped to make an eco-friendly platform that was both user-friendly and did a lot of good for the community. With his combined expertise of operating a nonprofit and working in traditional real estate, this led to the development of SG Blocks. The firm creates building designs that are sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly. SG Blocks is certainly a one-of-a-kind enterprise. They are container-based structured designs, but they have a lot more to offer than what is seen as a container. SG Blocks collaborate with architects, developers, builders, and commercial clients to create remarkable constructions that are safe, strong, and environmentally friendly. Their materials are resistant to hurricanes and earthquakes, which is becoming increasingly important as the world's climate changes. They are long-lasting, environmentally friendly, and time-saving. Our structures have a low carbon impact. This makes their company very unique by being able to give back in a good way to the environment.
