Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices have been a staple of Staten Island's summers for the past 90 years. They offer hundreds of flavours and many different types of ices, smoothies, drinks, sundaes, and more.
History
Ralph's Famous Italian Ices began in the hands of Ralph Silvestro. Silvestro came to the United States from Italy when he was a young man and began making his ices in 1928, selling them throughout Staten Island without any retail locations. His treats quickly became a Staten Island summertime favourite and earned him enough to open his first retail location in 1949, on Port Richmond Avenue.
In 1966, Ralph decided to retire and left his two daughters, Lucile and Elise, to continue the family business. They expanded the business further and started to create new flavors, making sure to use only the finest ingredients available in order to maintain Ralph's standards.
The family business soon expanded to Ralph Silvestro's grandsons, who work in the store to this current day. The ices grew in popularity and people began to travel from all over to try them and take some home. In the late 1980s, Ralph's started delivering their ices to locations outside of Staten Island. In 2001, they expanded to locations in all five boroughs. Long Island, and New Jersey joined their franchise program and became official Ralph's Famous Italian Ice stores.
Now, in 2018, they offer quality ices in over 150 flavours - including the original Orange and Lemon flavors that have remained unchanged since the start.

Ralph's Italian Ices offer over 150 flavours of Ices, Sherberts, Drinks, Smoothies, Fat Free Ices, Icebergs (ice cream atop a smoothie), Twisters (Ice between ice cream), Sundaes, and soft ice cream. Some more Interesting flavours include Stawberry Margarita, Choco Chip Cheesecake, Pumpkin Pie, PB Fluff, and many more. Try some of their coffee drinks as well, with drinks offered such as the Cake Shake or Mint Madness. For healthier options, try their 0 sugar fat free treats with flavours like Java Chip or Orange 'N Creme.

There are stores in Wading River, Montauk, Englishtown, Melvinne, Mamroneck, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Manhattan, Bronx, Lake Ronkonkoma, Great Neck, Long Beach, Northport, Aberdeen, Old Bridge, and many more.
